Nashville is a city of artists, musicians, and many talents. We pride ourselves on our community and, of course, many giant artworks around town. Check out these huge masterpieces and think about a treasure hunt for art around town!
Large scale art has always been a part of urban development, and Nashville is no exception. We’ve become famous for our murals, our music, and our hot chicken. Each neighborhood expresses it’s eccentricities through art and fantastic venues. Here, we’ll take you on a little tour of some of the art we’re proud of and want to share with the world.
Here’s one you’ll see all over town. Some painted on garage doors, others on back alley ways. All over Nashville there is city pride in our iconic “I Believe in Nashville”. Our area has been through floods, tornadoes, and some strife- this artwork shows how we come together as a community. We DO believe in Nashville!
The Nations was a working class neighborhood for many years, and as the city grew, gentrification took hold. To celebrate the area’s working class roots, the old silo was saved and painted. Today you can see it from the many small up and coming businesses and overhauled houses that make up this area of Nashville. Artist is Guido Van Helton whose beautiful works can be seen in Australia and Iceland.
12 South is home to abundant cute homes, and a walkable strip of cheerful restaurants and businesses. You’ll find little corners with art all over so keep a look out! We love this mural for it’s rich colors and vibrant message. While you shop keep your eyes peeled in this neighborhood because there are several murals worth checking out.
In downtown Nashville you’ll find a giant gorgeous calligraphy mural wrapped around the parking garage at 236 5th Ave N. It’s a beautiful project against the backdrop of a rapidly changing Nashville skyline. We’ve had a ton of growth in the last 10 years!
Expect a very long line to take a picture of yourself with the famous wings by Kelsey Montague. Influencers the world over clamor to get a shot with this giant interactive mural. While it is beautiful, you won’t see many locals hanging out around it. It’s become so popular with visitors and tourists that it’s become a tad blasé and no one wants to wait in line for something in their own city. That being said, that artists did a great job, it’s beautiful.
The Listening Room is a fantastic place to hear music live. This one is a great selfie spot off the beaten path that shows some of the unique character Nashville is known for. Impress your friends and avoid the long lines. Located at 618 4th Avenue S.
